Super Vust theorem and Schur-Sergeev duality for principal finite WW-superalgebras

In this paper, we first formulate a super version of Vust theorem associated with a regular nilpotent element egl(V)e\in\mathfrak{gl}(V). As an application of this theorem, we then obtain the Schur-Sergeev duality for principal finite WW-superalgebras which is partially a super version of Brundan-Kleshchev's higher level Schur-Weyl duality.Comment: 35 pages, comments are welcom

Hydrogen storage in pillared Li-dispersed boron carbide nanotubes

    Get PDF
Ab initio density-functional theory study suggests that pillared Li-dispersed boron carbide nanotubes is capable of storing hydrogen with a mass density higher than 6.0 weight% and a volumetric density higher than 45 g/L. The boron substitution in carbon nanotube greatly enhances the binding energy of Li atom to the nanotube, and this binding energy (~ 2.7 eV) is greater than the cohesive energy of lithium metal (~1.7 eV), preventing lithium from aggregation (or segregation) at high lithium doping concentration. The adsorption energy of hydrogen on the Li-dispersed boron carbide nanotube is in the range of 10 ~24 kJ/mol, suitable for reversible H2 adsorption/desorption at room temperature and near ambient pressure.Comment: 17 pages, 4 figure

A new constrained mKP hierarchy and the generalized Darboux transformation for the mKP equation with self-consistent sources

The mKP equation with self-consistent sources (mKPESCS) is treated in the framework of the constrained mKP hierarchy. We introduce a new constrained mKP hierarchy which may be viewed as the stationary hierarchy of the mKP hierarchy with self-consistent sources. This offers a natural way to obtain the Lax representation for the mKPESCS. Based on the conjugate Lax pairs, we construct the generalized Darboux transformation with arbitrary functions in time tt for the mKPESCS which, in contrast with the Darboux transformation for the mKP equation, provides a non-auto-B\"{a}cklund transformation between two mKPESCSs with different degrees. The formula for nn-times repeated generalized Darboux transformation is proposed and enables us to find the rational solutions (including the lump solutions), soliton solutions and the solutions of breather type of the mKPESCS.Comment: 23 pages, no figures. to appeare in Physica

Asset Prices, Monetary Policy, and Aggregate Fluctuations: An Empirical Investigation

    Get PDF
This paper studies empirically the dynamic interactions between asset prices, monetary policy, and aggregate fluctuations during the Volcker-Greenspan period. Using a simple structural vector autoregression framework, we investigate the effects of monetary policy on output, inflation and asset prices, the interactions of asset prices with the aggregate economy, as well as the relationship between stock price and house price. Several robust findings emerge. The systematic response of monetary policy to output and inflation is also found to play an important role in stabilizing the aggregate economy. In addition, the results call for special attention to be paid to house price when studying the dynamic relationships between asset prices and macroeconomic fluctuations.House prices; stock prices; systematic monetary policy; structural vector autoregressions.

A study of allosteric binding behaviour of a 1,3-alternate thiacalix[4]arene-based receptor using fluorescence signal

A novel heteroditopic thiacalix[4]arene receptor L possessing 1,3-alternate conformation, which contains two pyrene moieties attached to the lower rim via urea linkages together with a crown ether moiety appended at the opposite side of the thiacalix[4]arene cavity, has been synthesized. The complexation behaviour of receptor L was studied by means of fluorescence spectra and ¹H NMR titration experiments in the presence of K⁺ ions and a variety of other anions. The results suggested that receptor L can complex efficiently via the urea cavity or the crown ether moiety, and a positive/negative allosteric effect operating in receptor L was observed
